Traffic Club of Memphis is a member of the national organization, Transportation Clubs International (TCI).  TCI started awarding a Transportation Person of the Year award in 1984.  It is presented each year at its annual Congress and is designed to recognize significant contributions by an individual in the field of Transportation, Traffic Management, or Logistics.  The purpose of the award is to focus attention upon local, national, or international excellence.  TCI solicits nominees from all affiliated traffic-transportation clubs in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. 

The Traffic Club of Memphis uses the following guidelines to select its nominee representative for entry in this program:

1. Recommendations must be submitted using the club’s Nominate Someone Great application form.
2. Basis for selection will be determined from the information submitted on the application form, nomination reason sheet, and the biographical information sheet so please be clear, concise, and factual as publicity of the selection will be made to the media.
3. Selection will by made by the Director of Scholarship/TCI, Advisor, and President.
4. The application form must be received or postmarked by April 30^th.
5. Announcement and presentation of the Club’s nominee for TCI Transportation Person of the Year will be made at the June meeting.
